The theme of the upcoming winter retreat (June 21-23)  is “Shoulders and Hips”, and at the retreat our Registrars will also be attending sessions covering neurobiology of pain. The organising group is planning an interesting program with plenty of variety, including visiting presenters, and we look forward to seeing you.

As usual, as Fellows and Trainees, we seek your input to contribute.

There several opportunities where we invite your input (you can present on any or all of the below if you would like):

1.    Case Presentations

  • 15 minute total (case + discussion + Q&A)
  • Include relevant literature/evidence
  • Ideally Hip/Shoulder, but can be anything
  • Consider a Neurobiological element (this will help our trainees)
  1.  A session on “How I do it”
  • Up to 15 minutes to present how you perform any aspect of clinical (or non clinical) practice that may be of interest to colleagues
  • Examples could include a procedure, patient assessment tool, workflow tip
  • Include literature/evidence if relevant
  • Bear in mind the themes: Hip/Shoulder/neurobiology, but can be anything
  1.  Retreat ‘Journal Club’
  • 15 min presentations
  • Relevant journal article/research

To allow planning, please email Iain Bell (iain.bell@xtra.co.nz)  with brief details of what you are able to present (specific topic not necessarily required, just the session/s -  1,2 or 3).

Everyone is busy (we know you are too!), but please take a little time to prepare and make this event worthwhile for all attending. Our colleagues and trainees, and interested visiting clinicians, value the depth of our skill and knowledge.
